M - Mathematics

The standards adhered to for mathematics instruction are the Diocese of Trenton curriculum. The concepts covered at each grade level are: Number Theory, Estimation and Operations, Algebra Patterns and Functions, Geometry and Measurement, Data Analysis, Statistics and Probability. St. Raphael School emphasizes critical thinking and problem-solving skills with real-world application. This philosophy provides a depth of understanding which the student can then apply almost immediately in his/her daily life.

In the Middle School students are ability grouped into grade-level and enrichment classes. There is a dedicated teacher for each level. The students compete at various math competitions in the area such as the Scholastic Olympics and the Holy Cross Math Competition.
